The Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences is delighted to announce the next event in the Languages in a Global World series: Rosie Tapper in conversation with Professor Li Li is scheduled to take place on Monday 19th February 2024, 5.00pm – 6.00pm in Lecture Theatre 1, the Queen’s Building on the University’s Streatham Campus. University of Exeter Senior Vice-President and Provost, Professor Dan Charman, will introduce guest speaker, Exeter graduate and Vision 2030 Counsellor for the British Embassy Riyadh, Rosie Tapper. HASS Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean, Professor Gareth Stansfield and Professor Li Li, Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Global Engagement will lead a conversation with Rosie to explore the key role her undergraduate degree in French with Italian has played in her career and her experience of the powerful skill set that comes with knowledge of a variety of languages. The conversation will be followed by a Q&A for school students, hosted by Professor Fiona Cox, Head of the Languages, Cultures and Visual Studies department in the faculty.

A drinks reception will take place after the event from 18:00 – 19:00 in the Queen’s café.

The event will bring together our local foreign Modern Languages teachers and their students, Exeter Alumni, current staff and students of Languages, Cultures and Visual Studies at the University of Exeter.
